Manual wheelchair is manual driven, used for home rehabilitation, transportation, medical treatment, and outdoor activities for the wounded, sick, and disabled.
Manual wheelchair is regularly composed by the main frame, armrest, legrest, seat & back upholstery, footplate and brake. Different main frames are usually made from steel or aluminium alloy, having different structures, different shapes and different surface treatments, with single cross or double cross bar. Armrest can be fixed, flip-up, flip-down, drop-down, detachable, height adjustable according to different model numbers. Legrest can be fixed, flip-up, detachable, elevating, detachable elevating, with foot plate fixed or height adjusting. Regular materials of upholstery can be PVC or artificiual leather with different colour, different types of canvas with or with foam, and with some waterproof or frame resistant materials. Footplate can be made from steel, aluminium alloy, or plastic, with or without functions such as flipping-up, height adjusting or detaching. For brake, manual wheelchair is usually fixed with hand-brake, united handle brake, or pedal brake.
